Wrapped yarn, also known as parallel yarn and covered yarn, is a special structural yarn made by wrapping part of the fiber or the entire yarn or filament on the yarn core (core filament). It can be used for brushed woven fabrics and other products.

1. During the yarn forming process, part of the fiber or the entire yarn or filament is wrapped around the yarn core (core filament) to make a special structural yarn. The yarn wrapped with filament as core is called core-spun yarn. The edge fibers are wrapped around the yarn core composed of short fibers under the false twisting and untwisting action of the two nozzles to form an air-jet wrapped yarn. A yarn or filament is introduced into the front roller jaws of the ring spinning machine and the ring twisting machine. After twisting, the short fiber is wrapped around the yarn or filament, and a hollow spindle is used to twist the filament around the short fiber. A core-spun yarn is also formed on the fiber yarn core. There are many ways to form wrapped yarn, such as air vortex core-spun yarn, self-twisting wrapped yarn, and rotor core-spun yarn.

2. Also known as parallel yarn and covered yarn. A fancy yarn with untwisted whiskers as the core and filaments or yarns wrapped around the outside. Spinning using a "hollow spindle" (page 426). The short fiber sliver or roving enters the hollow spindle after passing through the drafting device. The filament package is placed outside the hollow spindle and rotates at the same speed. The unwound filament merges with the drafted sliver and enters the hollow spindle together. The sliver is wrapped to form a wrapped yarn, which is taken out by the yarn take-up roller and directly wound into a bobbin. Various natural fibers and chemical fibers can be used for short fiber core yarn, and various filaments or short fibers can be used for outer packaging. The wrapped yarn has a fluffy structure, plump hand feel, even dryness and less hairiness, and can be used in brushed woven fabrics and other products.
